The group often credited with sparking Occupy Wall Street (OWS) is Adbusters, the Canadian anti-capitalist magazine founded in 1989 by Kalle Lasn and Bill Schmalz in Vancouver, British Columbia. This July, Lasn and Schmalz issued a call to flood lower Manhattan with 90,000 protesters. Lasn has been accused of anti-Semitism regarding some of the articles in Adbusters. [Link]

Kalle Lasn previously called for a protest at the upcoming G20 while demanding a one-percent tax on financial transactions. You can read The Daily Call article on this here: “Occupy Wall Street Demands Global UN Tax and Worldwide G20 Protest.”

They don’t even try to hide their affinity to the UN, they’re taking the UN’s call for the tax to the streets and screaming for its implementation. As one of the founders of Occupy Wall Street, Lasn is also in bed with the power elite Soros crowd, which helps fund his magazine, as reported by Lew Rockwell.

Lawrence Morley writes in Adbusters:

“Revolt, if it is to be successful, must come from the mind; a growing unease and dissatisfaction with things as they are. Revolt may be leaderless, but it cannot be idea-less. … It could be said that any society has vested interests in the status quo which could not be unseated by argument. I disagree. For any revolution to succeed, even those interests must be shown to gain, or to lose less by cooperation than they would otherwise.

I, as a Progressive Anarchist, want the complete overthrow of present societies, but not now, not immediately, not violently, but gradually and peacefully as ideas gradually seep through one’s mind. The intention of this revolutionary is to assault your mind and destroy your beliefs.”

Another writer for Adbusters is Michael Hardt. He is an American literary theorist and post-Marxist philosopher perhaps best known for the book Empire, written with Antonio Negri and published in 2000. It has been called the Communist Manifesto of the 21st century.

For those of you who have studied and understand communism, Morley’s words and Hardt’s writings will ring those bells. Those involved in these protests remind me of the 60s and the Viet Nam protests, albeit, they aren’t as organized, nor are they as intellectual as those from the 60s. When asked questions about what they’d replace the free market with, they have no answers, other than the rich make too much money and they should share with those who are less fortunate. The protesters include persons of a variety of political orientations, including liberals, political independents, anarchists, socialists, libertarians, and environmentalists. At the protest’s start, the majority of the demonstrators were young; however, as the protest grew the age of the protesters became more diverse, mostly related to the use of social networks.

The dominant theme is that the U.S. is broke and corporations have ruined it. Now they want to kill the corporate “personhood” and then the US will be good again and then there will be justice and prosperity for all. Dream on!

Celebrity Involvement

The usual left wing celebs who want to be seen as erudite politically, but only know how to mimic the left-wing lines, are gaining publicity with their involvement with the OWS. On September 19, Roseanne Barr, the first celebrity to endorse the protest, spoke to protesters calling for a combination of capitalism and socialism and a system not based on “bloated talk radio hosts and that goddamn Ayn Rand book.” (Uh, excuse me Roseanne, I think you’ve been eating too much sugar. We already have a combination of what little remains of capitalism and a huge new amount of socialism – a nice euphemism for full-fledged communism) .

Conservative activist and John Birch Society member, H.L. Hunt’s granddaughter, Leah Hunt-Hendrix, 28, a doctoral student at Princeton writing her dissertation on the history of solidarity, joined OWS protesters, and said. “We should acknowledge our privilege and claim the responsibilities that come with it.” I believe H.L. understood it far better than his granddaughter.

Filmmaker Michael Moore spoke against Wall Street, saying, “They have tried to take our democracy and turn it into a kleptocracy.” (Michael, we were once a representative republic who followed the “rule of law.” Now we are as you state, a “democracy” which is nothing more than “mob rule.”) Susan Sarandon and Kanye West were also there to add their two-cents worth.

Other celebs include folk singer, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Tao Rodríguez-Seeger, Tom Chapin, David Amram, and Guy Davis. Others who are in support of the OWS according to Wikipedia include the usual suspects, Noam Chomsky, George Soros, and Yoko Ono. Mother Jones Magazine reports the growing number of unions joining in the activist protests.

Karl Denninger, one of the original Tea Party founders believes there are many similarities between OWS and the Tea Party demonstrations since many Tea Partiers have joined in the ranks of the OWS. As we’ve seen with Tea Parties across the nation, many are being led by infiltrating change agents and haven’t a clue of where the real battles lie. This is just another example of the deliberately dumbed down electorate reacting like lemmings and being led by socialist propaganda.

Calling for a Constitutional Convention

The OWS not only is demanding the UN one-percent tax, but they are now also demanding a Constitutional Convention for the purpose of changing the entire social structure of the US. Those of you who read my articles know I’ve written several times about the dangers of a Constitutional Convention. Leftist commentator, Cenk Uygur has announced the formation of Wolf-PAC to campaign for a Constitutional Convention. His call to action was featured on a website, Amped Status, run by David DeGraw who is one of the original founders of the OWS movement. A Constitutional Convention has been the dream of US leftists for a century or more. Constitution.net tells us that as far back as 1932, the Socialist Party’s platform included proposed changes to the Constitution, and many of these changes seem to parallel what Cenk and others want now. The Socialist Party’s 1932 platform included many proposed changes to the Constitution. One group concerned voting and elections, including popular election of the President and the ability to hold national referenda. Judicial review would be specifically barred. Workers’ rights would be protected and child labor barred; nationalization of industry would also be permitted and promoted. Finally, they advocated an easing of the requirements for ratification of constitutional amendments.

As I’ve stated many times before, a Constitutional Convention is fraught with risks and could easily spin out of control. It would very likely be hijacked by the elitists and then we’d end up with an anti-freedom agenda and a new constitution that would totally destroy the liberties our 1787 Constitution grants us. People…this means the entire Bill of Rights could disappear! Can you just imagine who we’d end up with on a Committee of Detail today, or the delegates from each state? It is the very people we oppose and that includes the phony right-wing like McCain, McConnell, and Boehner, and Snowe and Collins, not to mention Pelosi and Reid, Feinstein, Boxer and Schumer! God help us!

What few people understand is the fact that the right wing is pushing a Constitutional Convention as well and has been for a long time. Their tactics are subtle and disarming with the conservative sounding Balanced Budget Amendment that could easily lead to a Constitutional Convention. There has also been a desire of the leftists to eliminate the Electoral College. In doing so, the smaller states would not have a voice in elections and we’d end up having the president elected by the most leftist populated states. In the 2012 election, Obama would remain president. [Link]

Today the Vatican called for the establishment of a “global public authority” and a “central world bank” to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises. The document from the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department should please the OWS demonstrators and other movements around the world who have used the economic downturn to stage socialistic or progressive protests to push the US and world further down the road to serfdom.

I believe Occupy Wall Street is another Trojan Horse designed to further the aims of the elitists pushing a One World Order. The Con-Con promoters have been at this for decades and it is now coming to the fore again after we fought it off in the 80s. The Tea Party movement and the Occupy Wall Street movement are both expressions of people’s anger and rage over what our elitist politicians in both parties are doing to the American people via the right/left Hegelian Dialectic which provides the elite a way of controlling the masses.

As others have illustrated in numerous articles, there is considerable evidence that Occupy Wall Street is funded by these powerful elements. The great central banking families (and their political, military, religious and financial colleagues and enablers) have been plotting world government for more than a century and they see the US Constitution as an impediment. Leftism suits their purpose.

We need to remove the Fed and central banking and return the country to a competitive monetary system that goes back to gold and silver. We do not need a Constitutional Convention to do this.
We do need political and economic pressure on all of our state and local representatives and we need to warn them of the dangers of a Con-Con. Please use my previous articles to do same.

We have two gigantic dangers to the citizens of America. One is a Constitutional Convention which would not only destroy the Constitution we have now, but would give us a totally different country and eliminate our God given unalienable rights. The other is the massive all encompassing UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development that is already in full bloom across America and in nearly every city and town.

These are the two most important subjects we need to tackle today. If there are any good Tea Parties and freedom loving groups who are not infiltrated with change agents and neutralizing RINOs, please join the rest of us freedom-loving patriotic Americans in fighting these forces of evil.
As many of my close and dear friends fighting this behemoth say, FIRST WE MUST PRAY and repent for allowing God to be kicked out of America, as well as pleading for His Mercy on our nation. And then, we all need to get to work!

As we pointed out in today’s lead article, leftist commentator and ‘Young Turk’, Cenk Uygur, has come up with a dangerous new ploy to erode what’s left of American freedoms under the guise of increasing “fairness” and equity for the savaged US middle class. He wants to have a US constitutional convention.

A constitutional convention could end up with results that are much different than what was expected. And this does not address the REAL problem that the US – and the West – face. The number one problem is the power elite‘s central banking and bankers’ ability to print money from nothing. This causes tremendous euphorias and over time creates depressions. These are useful to the power elite, which wants to consolidate power on the way to creating world government.

Uygur doesn’t deal with any of this. On his Wolf-PAC.com website, Uygur “explains” how corporate power has grown, starting “in 1978, [when] the Supreme Court began to allow corporate money to influence politics … Corporate wealth and corporate power continues to grow unabated as the Supreme Court ruled last year in Citizens United v. FEC that corporations can now spend unlimited money in politics.”

This is truly farcical. The problems that the West, and America in particular, face go back at least to the Civil War when states lost the right to secede and Leviathan began to expand aggressively until today it swallows up to 50 percent of a person’s income in taxes and removes as much or more over time via central bank-induced price inflation.

The problems in the US have to do with a lack of FREEDOM, and this can be (and should be) remedied by fewer laws, by attacking a corrupt judiciary and especially by “ending the Fed,” the central banking system itself.

The Primary Pillars Of ‘Occupy The Fed Now’

1)  ‘Occupy The Fed Now’ is a non-partisan movement dedicated to transparency and accountability in Central Banking, corporate activity, as well as government.  Our foremost purpose is to fully support the utilization of the First Amendment to the Constitution and the right of any American, regardless of their economic, political, religious, or social beliefs to redress grievances publically, and peacefully, while also defending the Constitution by directing attention to the primary sources of the ongoing destruction of our country.  We are NOT a counter-movement in opposition to Occupy Wall Street.  While we do not agree with many of the specific conclusions or solutions presented by some Occupy Wall Street activists, we do not seek to antagonize or interfere with them.  We only seek to share the vast knowledge we have collected over many years of analysis on the true nature of the financial troubles surrounding us, as well as the true culprits behind their appearance.  Ultimately, we hope to make all protestors against economic corruption aware of the root source of the current fiscal crisis; the privately controlled Federal Reserve Bank, as well as the central banking authorities of many other nations around the world.

2)  We reject notions promoted by the mainstream media that the Wall Street protests (and spin-offs) are driven entirely by a “socialist uprising” or “Liberal Tea Party.”  Such arbitrary talking points we believe are an attempt to co-opt and divide people into false factions of “Left” and “Right.”  A 99% majority of American citizens no longer have a legitimate voice let alone any tangible influence over the decisions made by government today, and that 99% includes ALL political orientations, whether conservative or liberal, independent, libertarian, etc.  Over 80% of the American public, for instance, stood in vehement opposition to bailout programs initiated by the Federal Reserve which rewarded the thievery of criminal banking cartels while punishing taxpayers.  Our enemy is the same no matter what “side of the aisle” we might stand.  This movement must transcend preconceived notions and political ideologies and focus upon what is most important; freedom, and the truth, no matter where it may lead us.

3)  Occupy The Fed Now stands in opposition to any system which relies on centralization of power into the hands of an elite few in order administer the functions of government and society to the detriment of the common citizen.  This is exactly the kind of system we have today, with the Federal Reserve as the core facilitator, and it is a complete affront to the principles and laws of liberty which founded this country.  Wall Street and the corporations that dwell within are merely the peripheral vestiges of a much greater problem, and any movement which targets only Wall Street, we believe, is overlooking the source of our country’s ailments.  Instead of endlessly battling the external symptoms, we must counter and extinguish the disease itself.

4)  We feel that because America has not lived under a true capitalist free market system (in the Adam Smith sense) for at least a century, accusations that the methodology of Capitalism is to blame for our all our current ills are unfounded.  In fact, it has been the steady destruction of Capitalism and free markets since 1913 (when the Federal Reserve was founded) by the monopolies and duopolies inherent in Corporatism that has wreaked havoc upon our nation and our economy.  Corporatism is inherently destructive of free markets, and is designed to remove options and competition from a system, rather than encouraging the creation of new choices and better ways of doing things.  Occupy The Fed Now wishes to encourage the return of free markets and individual entrepreneurship while diminishing or completely removing the powers of the corporate system, including the protections of limited liability as well as legal categorization as “persons” that corporations have used for so long to dodge responsibility for their unlawful actions

5)  Occupy The Fed Now is calling for the complete dissolution of the private Federal Reserve and the end of its domination of the creation of currency within the U.S.  We oppose all monetary systems based on the spread of “fiat” (paper or digital money printed or generated out of thin air and backed by no tangible assets).  Private banks and unaccountable bankers and global financiers should NEVER be given the authority to shift and manipulate our sovereign economic system at will, yet this is exactly how the Federal Reserve is run, and that is exactly what it does.  All Fed accounts including its foreign transactions and holdings should be subjected to a FULL audit, and all debts that are owed to the Fed by the American government and by default the American taxpayer should be repudiated. The power to coin money must be taken away from the central bank and returned to the U.S. Treasury, as is authorized by the U.S. Constitution.

6)  We believe solutions to economic crisis include the return of sound money, or money backed by tangible assets, instead of debt.  Legislation which allows states and communities to have their own competing sound currencies would nurture an environment of financial choice, as well as spur a new era of business creativity.  Government intrusions into the personal lives of citizens, as well as the institution of vast bureaucratic obstacles, to the advantage of corporations and to the detriment of the individual, must be eliminated.  States must take back 10^th Amendment reserved powers that have been worn away over the decades and reassert control over their own economies and internal politics.  Globalization and centralization must be replaced with Localization backed by decentralized markets controlled by the people.  Average Americans must take back their local economies and supplant corporate control by building alternative systems of trade, including barter markets, sound money networks, and local business organizations and co-ops.  In order to defeat a corrupt system, we must first stop participating in that system, and then, build one of our own that services the needs of the people instead of the establishment, while working to dismantle and repeal the false, corrupt, unconstitutional fiat system.

7)  Occupy The Fed Now is not a militant organization, nor a vehicle for “domestic terrorism” though government rhetoric has turned towards branding peaceful activist organizations like ours as such recently.  We are not affiliated with the Republican or Democratic parties, nor will we be co-opted by either.  We are “extremists” only in that we absolutely refuse to compromise on the truth.  Our desire is to ensure a better future, if not for ourselves, then at least for our children.  We will not rest or yield until this is accomplished.  The window of opportunity to prevent outright economic and social catastrophe, we believe, is swiftly closing.  We must act immediately if we hope to secure a positive outcome for our country, our Constitution, and our culture.  There is no later, there is only now…

Who Sold the American People to  and Have Screwed Us All Since:

Foreign Bankers

The privately owned Federal Reserve Bank (The Fed) is privately owned by a group of primarily foreign bankers. In 1913, Congress sank America into eternal debt by giving the power to issue currency and control the American economic system to the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. Who are the owners or chief shareholders of the privately owned Federal Reserve? Originally, there were reportedly 203,053 shares of privately owned Federal Reserve stock, of which approximately 65% were owned by foreigners and approximately 35%(72,000 shares) were:

1. Rockefellers’ National City Bank = 30,000 shares
2. Chase National = 6,000 shares (currently Chase Manhattan and owned by David Rockefeller)
3. The National Bank of Commerce = 21,000 shares (now known as Morgan Guaranty Trust)
4. Morgans’ First national Bank = 15,000 shares

Interestingly, the total shares owned by Rockefellers interests equal 36,000 shares and the total of Morgans’ equals 36,000 shares. URGENT August 27 Quartzsite Rally Update!

Important message from Stewart Rhodes.

Oathkeepers, this rally in Quartzsite, AZ on August 27 is now more than just a march in support of ten oath keeping officers and a stand-up Marine veteran Mayor.

This is going to be a liberty celebration BASH.  (See detailes itinerary below).

After the march in honor of the Quartzsite ten, we will have a big barbeque and then live music on into the night by some excellent local bands and also a live concert by freedom fighter musician JORDAN PAGE.

Jordan is a nationally known superstar in the freedom movement, and a big supporter of Oath Keepers (he often wears an Oath Keepers Tee shirt when he performs). He’s the Thomas Paine of music.  He loves Oath Keepers and is honored to join us for this historic event.

We do need to help cover his costs, so we have created a chip in where folks can donate to help get Jordan Page to our event in Quartzsite, Arizona on August 27. Please donate and spread it around to others.

Quartzsite Ten Stand On Their Oath Against Alleged Corruption

On Sunday, July 31, 2011, the Board of Directors of Oath Keepers unanimously voted to call on the Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Montana chapters of Oath Keepers to conduct an official Oath Keepers Muster at Quartzsite, Arizona.  This muster will be held in conjunction with several other patriotic civic organizations, Sons of Liberty Riders, the Sons of Liberty, the Greater Phoenix Tea Party Patriots, the Campaign For Liberty,

The Muster will be held on August 27, 2011.

The purpose of this Muster is to support the courageous stand against alleged corruption within that town’s Police Department by ten police officers of the Quartzsite, Arizona Police Department. The ten officers are currently under “administrative leave,” and at least two of them have been fired from their employment in Quartzsite Police Department. The State’s Attorney General has issued a statement indicating an ongoing State-level investigation, and the County Attorney has issued a statement confirming some of the allegations brought by the whistleblowing officers. Public outcry is at a roar.  It is essential that we support oath keeping officers just as stridently as we call out oath breakers, and here we have ten stellar examples of police officers doing the right thing.  They need our full support, so if you can make this muster, please answer the call.  We have Oath Keepers from as far away as Texas who will be traveling to Quartzsite to join us there to take a stand in support of these officers.

The Muster is also aimed at supporting local patriot/activist Jennifer ‘Jade’ Jones and Quartzsite Mayor Ed Foster, who is a Marine veteran who has kept his oath by standing up for the free speech and political participation rights of the citizens of his town. Oath Keepers intends to spotlight the need for local involvement in local government, transparency in government on all levels, and to encourage unity through community action as small-town America strives for public office accountability in local affairs. America is watching, thanks to the efforts of Jennifer ‘Jade’ Jones, the Quartzsite Ten, and Mayor Ed Foster.

This Muster is to support the Quartzsite Ten and to show public approval of their willingness to speak out at risk of their jobs to seek an independent investigation and the proper and lawful execution of and administration of the law in Quartzsite.

There will be speakers and presentations,  and music after the rally.

The Muster will include an Oath Keepers led march similar to our march at the Tucson Muster this past Memorial Day (May 30, 2011).  We want large, tall marching flags and banners please. Be advised: Southwestern Arizona experiences 100-degree-plus temperatures, so come prepared to handle high heat during our march. We are told that ten or more Phoenix Fire Department EMTs will be volunteering to assist heat victims during the march. We are seeking volunteers who can assist with supplying water along the march route.

At present time we are in process of obtaining permits, establishing locations for the Muster, camping facilities, lodging facilities, etc.  We will be announcing details as they come in and are verified.

NOTE FROM STEWART:According to two eye witnesses, Quartzite Chief of Police Jeff Gilbert referred to the Oath Keepers, the Greater Phoenix Tea Party, and the Sons of Liberty Riders as  “terrorists” during a public “coffee with the Chief” meeting on August 3, 2011.  Reportedly, Chief Gilbert made the reference while discussing the upcoming August 27, 2011 rally that will be carried out by Oath Keepers, the Greater Phoenix Tea Party, and the Sons of Liberty Riders, telling the audience “”I take these terrorist threats very seriously and I have reported them to the FBI and anyone else who will listen.”This was first reported by the Greater Phoenix Tea Party at http://phoenixteaparty.ning.com/profiles/blogs/greater-phoenix-tea-party-haveA public information request has been filed to secure the video and audio of the meeting.   We will then know exactly what he said.  However, given his past behavior, I find the witnesses highly credible.Here is my response to the Chief:

If Chief Gilbert wants to label us “terrorists” simply for keeping our oaths to defend the Constitution, by using our natural right of free speech in support of good police officers who refused unlawful orders, and if he is going to label us “terrorists” for simply exercising our First Amendment protected right to peaceably assemble and petition government for a redress of grievances, — all rights that GOOD MEN fought and died to preserve -  well then, all I have to say is “we’re your huckleberries” Chief.  See you in Quartzsite folks!  Our forefathers are watching.

Unions and Communists March Side By Side at May Day Rally – Los Angeles, Ca 5/1/2011

This year’s annual May Day March in Downtown Los Angeles was considerably smaller than last year’s demonstration which, because it coincided with the passage of Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law, SB 1070, brought out more than 60,000 people, and only a tiny fraction of the 500,000 people who attended in 2007 when congress was debating immigration reform. The organizers estimated the number of attendees this year to be 10,000 and the police put the number at about 3000. Based on other demonstrations I’ve attended, I’d put my guess at about 4000.

There were a few American Flags, but more common were the flags of other nations.

There were plenty of vendors hoping to sell American Flags, but this year most people weren’t buying.

A May Day rally in Los Angeles, co-sponsored by the SEIU and various communist groups, as well as other unions, reflected yet another step in the normalization of self-identified communist and socialist ideologies in the Obama era. Not only did the SEIU help to organize the rally in conjunction with communists, they marched side-by-side with communists, while union members carried communist flags, communists carried union signs, and altogether there was no real way to tell the two apart.

Southern California citizen journalist and photographer “Ringo” was on hand to record the day’s events, and posted a full-length photo essay on his site Ringo’s Pictures. To bring this important photo essay to a wider audience, I present here a small selection of Ringo’s May Day pictures; visit his site to see dozens more photos from the rally.

When I tell people that public political rallies are more and more being led by communists and socialists, most folks simply don’t believe me. Aw, come on, you’re just giving decent protesters an extreme label, they say. No, actually, I’m not: The communists freely and proudly declare their affiliation.

And the SEIU has no problem marching arm-in-arm with them.

“Smash Capitalism” is a slogan the SEIU apparently endorses — or at least doesn’t mind marching behind.

In case you think the SEIU is some peripheral out-of-the-mainstream organization:

The SEIU devoted $28 million to Obama’s campaign, making the SEIU “the organization that spent the most to help Barack Obama get elected president.” Furthermore, who is Obama’s favorite White House guest and one of his closest confidants?

The individual who has visited the Obama White House the most: SEIU President Andy Stern, who has visited 53 times.

Obama is closely linked with the SEIU.
The SEIU is closely linked with communists.
You do the math.

Did I say communists? Sorry, I meant Communists (with a capital “C”).

Note how the Communists that day (like the women on the right in this photo) carried solid red flags symbolizing their ideology. Keep that in mind as you view the next photo…

One of the SEIU leaders picked up a Communist flag and led a contingent of rank-and-file SEIU members. Everyone was OK with that.

The way you can identify the SEIU members in all these pictures: They’re the ones in purple t-shirts carrying blue-and-yellow signs.

So, as you can see, the communists and the union members intermingled as the march progressed.

In case you were wondering what the SEIU was saying during all of this, here’s a video of the SEIU chanting “Legalization or REVOLUTION!” Clear enough?

And it wasn’t just the SEIU at the march — other “normal” unions like the AFL-CIO were on hand as well.

There were plenty of teachers’ unions attending too, and they brought along many of their public school students for some good old-fashioned communist indoctrination, as this video shows.

Most of the idiots in the US who walk around with Che buttons or Che shirts do so simply because they foolishly think he’s “cool.” These hardcore communists carry his image not because he’s “cool,” but because he was one of the most radical revolutionaries who ever lived. Right up there with Lenin, apparently.

In order to have a more “civil dialogue” with their political opponents, the marchers made a puppet of a demonic Statue of Liberty aligned with the “Tea Bag Party.”

OK, I guess Hitler comparisons are off the table for now — too many people have called it taboo. So what’s second best? The Devil!

Tell me the honest truth: If the Tea Party had marched in a rally behind a banner held up by fascists or neo-Nazis, don’t you think it would have been national news? But the nation’s biggest Obama-supporting political organization marched behind banners like these, and not a peep about it in the media. Hmmmm….

Until recently, the average American has regarded fascists and communists as equally noxious and equally malignant. As well they should have. But the drive these days by the left side of the spectrum is to make communism and socialism somewhat less remarkable and more palatable. For two years they angrily denied the Tea Party accusation that Obama’s policies and supporters had a socialist bent. But in recent months, as the accusation had started to gain traction, the new leftist tactic has become: “What’s so bad about socialism after all? You’re demonizing a very popular and respectable ideology!”

“Imposin’ crime”??? That’s an interesting spin I’d never seen before: “Hey America, it’s your fault we’re criminals!”

The never-ending quest to become king-of-the-hill in the victimology sweepstakes. The higher your victimhood status, the more politically successful you will be!

When I was a community organizer, SEIU Local 880 and myself we organized people, to make sure that healthcare workers had basic rights; we organized voter registration drives, that’s how we built political power on the South Side of Chicago….and now the time has come for us to do it all across this country, and then we’ll paint the nation purple, with SEIU!

I would not be a United States Senator had it not been for the support of your brothers and sisters in Illinois. Those folks, they supported me early, they supported me often. I’ve got my purple windbreaker from my campaign in 2004.

And so, we’ve just got, what, four more days? Four more days of knocking on some doors. Four more days of working the precinct. Four more days of making sure all your co-workers are caucusing.

We expect this to be the largest one day of peaceful protest in the history of our nation.

Why This Step?

This is an effort by Constitutional Patriots to protest in a manner that cannot be ignored as in the case of smaller, more localized events. We have not been heard so we are increasing the size and scope of our demands. We are absolutely convinced that a nationwide demonstration at a precise time in hundreds of locations must be heard. This plan will demonstrate the unity which exists between determined citizens who are completely upset with the direction of our nation’s leadership. Every previous effort to make ourselves heard has been stifled by major media and ignored or belittled. We refuse to accept this treatment and are therefore taking bolder steps to make our loyalty to the Constitution and traditional American values more evident.

How It Works

Local level leaders and organizers are being encouraged to take charge in their own areas. People who are familiar with local routes, laws and citizens are establishing their own groups. They are getting the word out and identifying potential staging areas where participants can gather on the day of the event. At the appropriate time these groups will leave their staging area and move to the side of predetermined local roadways. Individuals who are not part of a group but wish to be involved should have no trouble locating a group already on a road which they can choose to pull over with. All participants are instructed to be courteous, obey all local laws and officers and to not impede or disrupt traffic or travel of non-participants. This is merely pulling safely to the shoulders of highways that were designed and built for it.

Sitting on an upturned bread basket with her knees pulled up to her chest, a petite young woman looked out over Tahrir Square early yesterday morning and weighed up whether she should stay or leave.
Gabrielle, 25, is a French-Egyptian property lawyer, one of the thousands of young protesters who have remained at the focal point of Egypt’s uprising since it began 13 days ago. Exhausted, she yearns to return to the comfortable home she shares with her younger sisters and anxious parents – also lawyers – in the upmarket Cairo suburb of Heliopolis ten miles away. She dreamt last night of a hot bath and fresh clothes.
Laughing wearily, she says: ‘See, I am the colours of the Egyptian flag.’ She points to her black jeans, white shirt – and the blood on her sleeve.

War zone: But protesters say they now feel safer in Cairo’s Tahrir Square than on the many streets where pro-government militia roam free.

‘It’s not mine,’ she says, almost apologetically. ‘My friend, a student doctor, was cut above the eye by a rock the other day.
‘Of course my family are worried – my father rings every hour to check I am OK. And it would be a lie to say that I enjoy being dressed like this. I’m a woman, and fussy about clothes! I’ve been out of the square only twice, and only briefly, since this began so it hasn’t been easy. At the same time I don’t want to let my friends down, and I want to stay until Mubarak leaves.
‘I am also worried about being arrested if I leave. Already we have heard stories about activists who have left being rounded up. They have our names from Facebook postings and Twitter. Some have not been heard of since.’
Gabrielle’s dilemma is shared by many others whose activism, both online and on the streets, has brought them to the attention of the state security police.
While other protesters arrive and leave freely, thousands like Gabrielle – well-educated, middle-class idealistic young Egyptians who used social networking sites to ignite this protest – are beginning to feel trapped. Some say they are fighting for their lives, though they have thus far protested peacefully.

Vast numbers of students, medics, engineers and professionals filled the square yesterday and have done so since what they call their ‘revolution without leaders’ began.
What is immediately noticeable about many of the protesters is their faultless English. It is largely due to the fact that the Egyptian middle classes are educated to a high standard.
They also have an insatiable thirst for British and American films and TV sitcoms, and European music – and an intuitive understanding of Western culture.
That they are passionate and impatient for change, there is no doubt. But they are sensible and thoughtful too, and they carry themselves with a dignity that is greatly at odds with the images of rage-filled Arab demonstrators screaming from TV screens around the globe.
It is a measure of the dizzying turn of events in Cairo that Cairo that Tahrir Square, which has witnessed rubber bullets, live bullets, petrol bombs and tear gas, is now considered by these young people to be a place of relative safety.
In the surrounding streets, and elsewhere in the capital, gangs of iron bar-wielding Mubarak loyalists lurk listlessly at roadblocks. Bloggers and opposition leaders have been dragged from their homes and beaten up. Journalists, too, have been targeted.

But cocooned by a security cordon manned by the military, the protesters inside the square are now less fearful of attack. A calmer mood prevails. Even those who stood at barricades repelling the president’s supporters with rocks and petrol bombs only a few days ago, sang protest songs accompanied by guitarists yesterday.
These anti-Government protesters make up a rather different faction. They share the same goal as Gabrielle and her friends but are drawn mainly from the ranks of the poorer classes and unemployed and, while they were quiet yesterday, are quick to engage in fighting to protect the square.
In the past two days, there has also been a notable increase in the number of Islamists among the crowds. A small number are said to be extremists and there have been several reports that some, thought to be allied to the main opposition group, the largely moderate Muslim Brotherhood, were carrying guns, looted from police stations when the unrest began.
‘Those supporting the Brotherhood tend to stay together – not mixing with us – and gather in shop doorways to sleep,’ said Gabrielle. ‘We have no problem with them. Everyone stands together. I have heard the reports about guns and that is worrying, though.’
Gabrielle herself sleeps on a rubber mat and shares a tent with a friend in an encampment in a far corner of the square.
‘We were moved into the middle of this camp for our protection, because we are women.’ She adds: ‘It gets scary when we hear gunfire. It is something that I just can’t get used to. You never know if it is close by.

‘Until this week the thought of hearing so much gunfire in downturn Cairo was unthink­able, as unthinkable as in London. Imagine gunfire every night in Trafalgar Square.’
Buckets of water for washing are scarce, though Gabrielle insists ‘no one makes a fuss’. ‘It is a problem of course but the people who are camping around us help each other and we share whatever we have,’ she says.
‘That goes for food too. We exist mainly on flatbread made with seeds and maize. But sometimes there are kebabs and falafel and soup.’
The area around the Army checkpoints is littered with rubble, broken glass and rocks.
Avoiding the watching soldiers, a group of men stood guarding a wooden box full of petrol bombs yesterday.
Western journalists are greeted with happy smiles, handshakes and kisses. Pro­testers are keen to show how slickly organised their campaign has become. And perhaps their warmth is also partly due to concern at what will happen if world interest wanes.
Yesterday streams of volunteers arriving with food supplies were hastily ushered to the front of the queue at the military checkpoint near the Qasr El Nile Bridge. Soldiers appeared eager to help them.
Inside the square, there are stalls serving tea and makeshift clinics, an expensive public-address system, internet access, and even a place to charge mobile phones.
A travel agency office is used to ‘process’ captured Mubarak loyalists. Behind closed doors they are thoroughly searched – some are said to endure worse. They are then led to a makeshift ‘prison’ – the barricaded steps leading down to the Sadat metro station – and are later escorted away by soldiers.

It is a reminder that danger – despite the military’s protection and a lull in violent clashes – is never far away, particularly when darkness falls.
Friday morning brought news that three men camped out in the square had been shot dead. There was more gunfire in the early hours of Saturday in the streets around the square but no reports of injuries.
Former BBC Spooks actor Khalid Abdalla, who has camped in Tahrir Square since the start of the protest, spoke of a botched attempt by pro-Mubarak thugs to enter the square as the activists slept early yesterday.
Mr Abdalla, a Cambridge-educated British-Egyptian, who also starred in the film The Kite Runner, described seeing ‘a man die in front of me’ during clashes last week.
‘I filmed it on my iPhone,’ he said. ‘Too much blood has been shed. But the fight for noble ideals will continue.’
Elsewhere in the square, there was earnest discussion among the young activists about what the future holds – and whether to storm the offices of the state television station, which they blame for spreading lies.
If you believe Mubarak’s senior party members – few do, of course – there is a ‘silent majority’ of millions who want him to cling to power. Even his opponents admit some Egyptians have a sentimental attachment to Mubarak and speak of a ‘slave mentality’.
Certainly there is much support for the president among the country’s businessmen, some of whom stand accused of paying poor Egyptians to carry out acts of violence against protesters.
And many who work in the lifeblood tourism industry have also pledged their allegiance to the regime. With businesses and banks closing, the economy has lost nearly £2 billion due to the crisis – and there has been an exodus of holidaymakers in the middle of the peak season.
Back at the square yesterday, the protest continued. As I made my way to the checkpoint to leave, I saw Gabrielle deep in discussion with friends.
‘Hey, I want to tell you that I’ve made my mind up,’ she said. ‘I’ve decided to stay. Let’s hope Mubarak does the opposite.’
She was smiling, but there were tears in her eyes.

America is seething. Not since the Civil War has anything like this happened. But the protests are either being intentionally downplayed or ignorantly misinterpreted.
The first shot was fired on April 15, 2009. Over 700 anti-tax rallies and “Tea Parties” erupted nationwide. Rather than acknowledge their significance, the general media either ignored or ridiculed both protests and protestors, playing on “tea bagging” for its sexual innuendo.

On Sunday, October 24, 2010, nine days before the elections, Americans are being called to step into the streets to walk a mile together in a show of support for the nation’s founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for the United States of America.

The national civic action will take place from 1-2pm in every time zone. Organizers are hoping to see millions of patriots from cities and towns across America – of all age groups – participate in the Liberty Walk. The purpose is to show how many supporters of the Constitution there are; to inspire the People to come together at the local level out of love for America, her Constitution and Freedom; and to encourage personal responsibility for ensuring that constitutional obedience, honor, honesty and integrity are returned to government at every level.

The Liberty Walk is a non-political event. Pro-Constitution candidates and politicians are invited to attend and walk humbly with the People. For that one hour, there will be no political speeches or campaigning, only reflection on the history, meaning, effect and significance of our Charters of Freedom. Participants will step off together at 1pm and end at a gathering place, where a special ceremony will be given to honor Country and Constitution.
